Welcome (and Welcome Back) to all Ryan Road Families! We are incredibly excited to host our first PTO meeting of the year on 9/21 from 5:30 – 7:00 pm, in person at Ryan Road! We will have refreshments (popcorn and ice cream) and entertainment for the kids by magician Ed Pop. Our plan is to host the event totally outdoors, weather permitting. At this meeting, we hope to provide you all with a glimpse of who the PTO is and what we will be working on this year but here is a preview! We hope to see you and your family at this event.
Who is the PTO? You are! Every parent and guardian is a member of our PTO.
The Board Members for the 2022-2023 school year are – President: Shannon Hicks – Vice President: Sofiya Alhassan – Treasurer: Tom Murphy – Social Media Coordinator: Emily Beaudry – Secretary: Liam Hurley
What does the PTO do? Traditionally, we raise money so all students have access to the same opportunities. We put together community events to strengthen the bond between school and home. We anticipate 2022-2023 will look different than last year and there will be more in-person school-wide events and activities.
The PTO is also planning a return to our typical fundraisers, including favorites such as Spirit Gear, Election Day Bake Sale, Art to Remember (keepsakes with your child’s artwork), the calendar raffle, the Christmas Tree Pickup, and events, such as the Halloween Party, Movie Night and the Talent Show.
Where does the money go? Money raised by the PTO goes to events and supplies such as field trips, library books, field day, staff appreciation, Nature Week and so much more. We also raise funds that are specifically allocated towards teacher reimbursement, and technology and educational needs not covered by the district. In addition, these funds help to support our Ryan Road families if needs are identified. Please consider donating to our amazing school community.
We need your help to keep going! If you are interested in joining the board, getting involved with events and helping our school and our students please reach out to a board member or email RyanRoadPTO@gmail.com. You don’t even have to have attended a meeting to get involved – all you need is a desire to help the students of our awesome school. Here are a few examples of how to get involved in the PTO.
